What is Vacuum Excavation?
Vacuum excavation is a method of digging that involves using a vacuum to break up material with high-pressure air or water. This process is also known by other names, such as hydro excavation, soft digging, air excavation, remote excavation, and preventive excavation.
Unlike traditional mechanical digging methods, vacuum excavation is a non-destructive and non-mechanical process that removes soil and other natural debris in a controlled manner. The excavated material is transported through a flexible hose to a debris tank mounted on a truck, which can be parked at a distance of hundreds of feet from the excavation site to minimize surface damage and congestion.
