Electromagnetic Locating
Electromagnetic technologies are the most widely utilized equipment for the detection and surface marking of underground utilities. To accomplish this, Ecotech Utility Locating Services utilizes both passive and active radio frequencies transmitted through the conductive part of the utility. These frequencies can either occur naturally (passive) or be applied using a transmitter device by our team (active).
Our approach involves connecting to accessible utility features within and adjacent to the project area. By applying an active radio frequency, we target utilities for detection. Additionally, we conduct multi-frequency passive scans in a grid pattern throughout the project limits to uncover any additional utilities that may not have visible surface features in and around the designated area.
