Trenching
Trenching is a common method of hydro and air excavation, with various forms available including slot, perimeter, box, linear, cross and exploratory trenching. Each variation is specific to the scope of work. Trenches are cut with great accuracy and precision using high-pressure water or air, and the soil is vacuumed through a flexible hose to a truck-mounted debris tank parked hundreds of feet away to minimize congestion and additional surface damage.
Using hydro and air excavation virtually eliminates accidental hits to underground utilities, preventing power outages, utility damage, injuries to workers and bystanders, inconvenient traffic disruptions and costly interruption to businesses and construction projects. It also translates into less material removal, resulting in fewer disposals and reduced restoration.

We used Ecotech on a project in Myerstown, PA. In the utility world, we are programmed for conventional auger methods for pole sets. We are sold on their vacuum excavation method after their scope of work was complete.
