Slot Trenching
Slot trenching is a common use of hydro and air excavation. Pressurized water or air is used to cut thin, accurate trenches of various dimensions, typically 6 to 24 inches wide and up to 8 feet deep. This method is effective in locating utility lines when their location is unknown. Ecotech also utilizes slot trenching for installing pipes, sprinkler systems, cables, signs, posts and other utilities underground, as well as for narrow trenching around the perimeter of a foundation for the installation of grounding wires or electrical lines. With vacuum excavation, slot trenches require minimal backfilling, leaving established landscaped areas clean and requiring far less restoration than other methods.
