About Hydro Excavation
Hydro excavation, also known as vacuum excavation, remote excavation, or soft digging, is a non-mechanical and non-destructive process that uses pressurized water and a high-flowing air to excavate and evacuate soil and natural debris at a controlled rate. The soil and water mixture, or slurry, is transferred through a wide and flexible hose to a truck-mounted debris tank, which can be parked hundreds of feet away from the excavation site to minimize congestion and additional surface damage.
Hydro Excavation Services
At Ecotech, we offer hydro excavation services that provide precision digging with minimal disruption to the job site, leading to reduced restoration and a clean work area. Hydro excavation can be performed remotely, and it is typically faster on larger excavation sites. It is also better suited for clay or rocky soils. Our trucks are equipped with a 420,000 BTU boiler to heat the water, allowing it to cut through frozen ground. Additionally, the use of water eliminates static electricity. We also use pellets to absorb and solidify the wet slurry, making onsite disposal easy.
Why Choose Hydro Excavation?
Hydro excavation offers several advantages over traditional excavation methods, including more precise digging with minimal disruption to the surrounding environment, reduced restoration costs, and a safer excavation process. It is also more efficient on larger excavation sites and better suited for challenging soil conditions, such as clay or rocky soils. The use of pellets to solidify the wet slurry allows for easy onsite disposal, and the elimination of static electricity adds an additional safety benefit.
